quitting_smokingStopping the smoking of cigarettes is easier to think about and harder to do. Nicotine, which is contained in tobacco, is one of the most addictive substances in the world.

Believe it or not, the best method of quitting is to just quit and be done with it and go through pure hell for three or four weeks. Many believe that this is impossible, yet it can be done. Usually a person must surround himself will willing supporters, because cheating with just one cigarette ruins the whole effort.

Once a person gets past the third or fourth week, he has a real chance of making it stick. The human body has by then, begun the detoxification process where the actual tars in the lungs are being expelled in ugly green and black mucus and the cravings for cigarettes have all but gone.

A person begins to get their tastes and smell back and a new life has opened up. People don’t really realize that they are losing their taste when they smoke, but they certainly do know when they get it back. They also find that they cannot stand to be around someone who is smoking. That is a good sign that you have really quit the habit.
